Julianna Pfeiffer

Julianna Pfeiffer is a Maine Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a certified Jin Shin Jyutsu ® practitioner.  She maintains a private practice in Camden, Maine at The Wellness Center. Her specialty is relationship work and helping others take responsibility for the situations which arise in one’s life. She also enjoys opportunities to teach about relationships, conscious communication, breathing and centering practices, and Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help as a daily practice.

Bringing focused attention and compassionate presence to her work, Julianna invites an awareness-based inquiry of thoughts, feelings, and conditioned patterns in each session. Her use and instruction of breath and body awareness assists others to learn new ways of being and relating with one’s self and others. As clients “wake-up” to the habitual “stories” the mind ceaselessly generates, a deeper intelligence arises.  Intuition grows and creative options emerge through a more grounded sense of presence and a deeper experience of being.

For clients who favor creative movement as a learning preference, Julianna has training in movement therapy and psychodrama techniques.

Julianna earned her master’s degree in counseling in 1986.  Prior to entering private practice in 1996, she has been employed in university, high school and alternative education settings. Noteworthy teachers have included body-centered relationship specialists Drs. Kathyln and Gay Henricks and spiritual teachers Eckhart Tolle and Karen McPhee.

In 2004, Julianna became certified in Jin Shin Jyutsu, a form of energy work which involves gentle touch applied on the body by a practitioner or as self-help.  Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to the body’s energy and facilitates one’s own innate healing capacity. It is a valuable complement to counseling or other conventional healing methods, inducing relaxation and reducing the effects of stress. Sessions focus on restoring the harmony in the body which is always present beneath the appearance of symptoms.

“When you are present in this moment, you break the continuity of your story, of past and future. Then true intelligence arises, and also love.”

Eckhart Tolle
